Ok, so hopefully you’re here because you want to share your WHY – and you’re probably wondering how to go about it…
Firstly, if you want some inspiration – or just want to check out the different ways to contribute and how they might look – click here.
Once you’re all fired up and inspired, there are 3 ways to contribute (feel free to do all 3 if you’re REALLY keen):
1) Short video clip (YouTube)
- Create a short clip, around 3-5 seconds in length
- No need for audio (we’ll be putting a soundtrack over the top)
- Upload your clip to YouTube
- Include the hashtag #whyiteach
- Embed your clip in a blog post, where you can tell us a bit more about your WHY – make sure to tag the post #ccourseswhy
- Upload your clip to this dropbox folder – submit as yourname.mp4 or .flv or .mov
2) Micro-content (using Instagram or Vine)
- Create a short clip in Vine or Instagram, around 3-5 seconds in length
- No need for audio (we’ll be putting a soundtrack over the top)
- Include the hashtag #whyiteach
- Embed your clip in a blog post, where you can tell us a bit more about your WHY – make sure to tag the post #ccourseswhy
3) Still image (jpeg)
- Create a still image (this could be a photo of you holding up a sign – or something more imaginative, of course)
- Embed your image in a blog post, where you can tell us a bit more about your WHY – make sure to tag the post #whyiteach
- Upload your image to this dropbox folder – submit as yourname.jpg
A few final pointers:
TEXT – make sure it’s clear – high contrast between text and background
VIDEO – it would be great to see you (yes, you!), although if you’re not very comfortable in front of the camera you may prefer to hide, and that’s okay 🙂
SHARE – share your video in the make bank, and frame it in a blog post that explains your story and inspiration. And remember, the #ccourseswhy hashtag is your friend.
We’re launching this along with the first topic on the Connected Courses MOOC, which means that we’ll be collecting contributions from 15-30 September.
So come on! What are you waiting for? Let’s CREATE!
GOOD LUCK!
